The buttons Approach und Withdraw This two functions move the cantilever down to the sample and lift it up after a measurement.
The buttons Start und Stop Start begins a measurement, Stop quits the ongoing scan
The area of monitoring, where the data ist presented in different ways. The AFM delivers pure scan values, which means just integer numbers. The value of every number represents the hight at a certain point.
This values can be displayed in many different ways. Mostly every single scanline is represented as a linegraph.
The whole scan as a colored image. The colors represent the measured hight .
